As part of the Agreement concluded with Atyrau Refinery LLP (hereinafter referred to as the Atyrau Refinery), a HAZOP session – the process of detailing and identifying the hazard and operability problems of the ELOU-AVT-3 system – was successfully held from November to December 2020.

The HAZOP session was held at the Atyrau Refinery area. Over the entire period of the project, 17 specialists from KGNT, Atyrau Refinery and their subcontractors took part in the HAZOP session chaired by the KGNT head office personnel. KGNT provided training to all participants and developed a detailed plan for the session.

In the course of a detailed review, risks and hazardous factors were identified and analyzed for 55 units that make up the ELOU-AVT-3 unit. As a result of the session, a final report was issued, including 4 comments and 7 recommendations aimed at reducing the degree of risk to safety and the environment as well as stimulating the reliable operation of the facility.

All works were performed in proper quality and on time, as evidenced by the receipt of a positive response from the Atyrau Refinery on the holding of the HAZOP session at the ELOU-AVT-3, as stated by Letter No. 62/419 dated 4 February, 2021.

Gennadiy Alexandrovich makes a significant contribution to the development of design, construction and Kazakh engineering by actively participating in the process of becoming a modern engineering company in the field of industrial, civil construction and achieving a leading position in the market.

Completed the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute named after  V.I. V.I. Lenin in the specialty “Machinery and Equipment for Oil and Gas Fields Industries”

He began his career at KGNT as a senior engineer of the research department for experimental design work, then a lead engineer of the research department for experimental design work, a head of the pre-assembled unit construction method sector, a head of the sector, a head for the development of state and industry regulatory and technical documentation, a head of the regulatory and technical documentation department, a head for the development of state and industry regulatory and technical documentation, Deputy Chief Engineer, Head of the Expert and Analytical Department, Deputy Director of the Institute for the Design of Oil and Gas Facilities, Director for Corporate Development, Director for Search and Development of New Products and Technologies, Director of the Equipment and Standards Division to Managing Director of Innovation and Marketing, while overseeing the Equipment Sector of the Production Division.

Gennadiy Alexandrovich Tarassov supervised the development and implementation of 12 innovative experimental, designing and research developments in the national economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the introduction into the oil and gas complex of the CIS and the Republic of Kazakhstan of solid-block gas filling stations that allow reducing the cost of building gas filling stations by 60% and improving the environmental parameters of combined filling stations and developing Special technical conditions; innovative advanced safety methods – a sub-layer method of fire extinguishing of oil and oil product tanks and active lightning protection systems for buildings and structures, which can significantly reduce the hazard level during the operation of oil and gas facilities while developing RoK SN standards.

Gennadiy Alexandrovich has merits in the field of training specialists in the construction, technical and managerial specialty, having trained more than thirty highly qualified personnel and managers, as well as in the creation and development of the center for the development of state building standards and standards for the oil and gas complex.

In the field of creating a building regulatory framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan (SNiP RK, SN RK, SP RK, RD), designing new equipment and technologies for the oil and gas complex, designing oil and gas facilities, including international projects on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, obtaining approvals and implementing state experts’ reviews of projects, organizing and carrying out the technical policy of the oil and gas complex in the form of international conferences and workshops, participating in the work of technical committees (TC 88, TC 89, TC 90) of the State Standard of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the standardization in the oil and gas industry, including the design of oil and gas facilities, participation in the Scientific and Technical Council “KAZENERGY “.

Gennadiy Alexandrovich is the head for the development of state building standards, regulatory and technical documents that have given a positive economic effect for the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the promotion of new equipment and technology, as well as standards for the oil and gas complex.

2009 – Badge of Honor of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for his contribution to the promotion and development of the KazStimOil conference on new equipment and technologies for intensifying oil and gas production in the Republic of Kazakhstan

2014 – Badge of the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Honored Worker of the Oil and Gas Industry”.
