Future Growth Project

KGNT completes participation in one of the world’s largest oil and gas projects

Kazakhstani engineering company KGNT is proud to announce the successful completion of its participation in the Tengiz Field Future Growth Project (FGP), which has become one of the largest in the global oil and gas industry.

Operated by Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) since 2011, the project was of strategic importance to Kazakhstan, providing modernization and production expansion of one of the country’s largest oil fields. KGNT actively participated in this large-scale project as part of the Kazakh Project Joint Venture (KPJV) Consortia, which also included Fluor (USA), Worley (UK) and KING (Kazakhstan).

The main contribution of KPJV was the provision of highly qualified Kazakhstani specialists for the implementation of various stages of the project.

One of the significant achievements was an increase in the share of Kazakhstani specialists in the project implementation, which contributed to the development of local human resource potential and growth of competences of national employees.

The Tengiz FGP reinforced the position of Kazakhstan as one of the leaders of the global oil and gas industry, as well as became a catalyst for the development of the national engineering sector. Around 90,000 jobs were created in the course of the project, and more than 37,000 Kazakhstani specialists completed training and professional development programmes, enabling them to pursue new professional opportunities.

Joint ventures were also formed under the project, which allowed the Kazakhstani party both to participate more actively in production processes and to significantly increase its status in key decision-making at all stages of FGP implementation.

KGNT is proud to have contributed to the successful completion of such a large-scale project and will continue to contribute its experience and expertise to the further development of the oil and gas industry in Kazakhstan. Company confirms its readiness to participate in new strategic initiatives aimed at the modernization and sustainable development of the country’s energy sector.
