12th International Business Summit Downstream Central Asia and Caspian 2025 September 9–11, Uzbekistan – Samarqand
Samarqand to Host the Region’s Premier Event for the Downstream Industry in September 2025
From September 9 to 11, 2025, the ultra-modern Hilton Samarkand Regency will host the 12th International “Downstream Central Asia & Caspian” Business Summit — the key annual event for the region’s refining and petrochemical sectors.
Central Asia and the Caspian region are undergoing a major transformation. Key priorities include modernising processing capacity, cutting carbon emissions, overcoming logistical hurdles, and balancing export obligations — particularly with China — against growing domestic demand.
Amid rapid tech shifts, rising costs, and evolving geopolitics, the summit in Samarkand will be the region’s key platform for shaping strategies around sustainable growth, regulatory clarity, and attracting international investment.
Over 40% of summit participants are project owners and key stakeholders behind major refining and petrochemical projects in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. The summit will welcome leading buyers and industry leaders from across the region. Confirmed participants include Atyrau Refinery, KazMunayGas, Uzbekistan GTL, Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant, SOCAR Turkey, Fergana Refinery, KMG Petrochem, Silleno, and NavoiAzot.
The summit will bring together more than 300 delegates from over 20 countries, including both regional stakeholders and top international companies and projects, reaffirming its status as a key platform for business networking and partnership development.
Over three days, participants will address critical industry issues: refinery transformation, greenfield projects, the impact of geopolitics and investment, the green economy and SAF, infrastructure barriers, and unplanned plant shutdowns and their consequences.
Key expert speakers include: Igor Ilyin, Chairman of the Board at KMG Petrochem; Alisher Bakhadirov, CEO of Uzbekistan GTL; and Pyotr Sodilovsky, Regional Vice President at Veolia Water Technologies.
This year’s summit program will also feature a technical site visit to Uzbekistan GTL — the cornerstone of the region’s first gas chemical cluster — as well as hands-on workshops with experts and personalised 1:1 meetings with potential partners and investors.
