On September 13, ENGINEERING COMPANY KAZGIPRONEFTETRANS LLP celebrated its 45th anniversary.
In honor of the anniversary, as well as with the aim of creating a unique platform for the exchange of the most relevant experience between the leading world and Kazakhstani oil and gas and oilfield services companies, the presentation of medium-term guidelines for the further development of the oil and gas sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the promotion of potential contacts and cooperation on future projects of the oil and gas industry, and the activation of information processes key players on the possibilities of domestic engineering and practical aspects of sustainable development, the company conducted International Practical Conference «Transformation of Oil and Gas Engineering in the Face of Global and Internal Challenges» in the conference hall of the Rixos Almaty Hotel.
The conference began with welcoming remarks by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of KAZGIPRONEFTETRANS ENGINEERING COMPANY LLP, Mr. S.V. Kan, Director of the Kazakhstan Project Management Association, Mrs. M.Kh. Khusainova, General Director of the Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas JSC Mr. V.R. Li and CEO of KAZGIPRONEFTETRANS ENGINEERING COMPANY LLP. Mrs. A. M. Bekisheva.
The conference was divided into three sessions, which discussed the current state and prospects of development of the oil and gas industry in Kazakhstan, the management of construction projects in the oil and gas sector, as well as modern information modeling technologies.
The conference guests were greeted by a large interactive tablet, where everyone could find out more information about the company by accessing KGNT corporate pages on social networks. In a portable VR room, the event participants could personally see the simulated object thanks to 3D-visualization technology. Banners showing the history of the company in photos were installed in the lobby.

Andrew Woodhead, Senior Vice President, E&C Europe Central Asia, Worley, made a presentation on “A good strategy is a good project. How to choose the best strategy for the execution of the contract, bypassing costs and other errors. «
T.D. Mandaryia, KGNT Chief Overseas Production Officer, has spoken on “Transforming the functions and structure of KGNT depending on the requirements of the market for engineering services in 1974 — 2019”, highlighting the transformation of the company in time from its inception to the present.
The conference was moderated and chaired by U.S. Karabalin, Deputy Chairman of the KAZENERGY Association, N. A. Zhumagulov, Director General of the KAZSERVICE Union of Oil Service Companies of Kazakhstan, M.A. Kuangaliyev, Director of the Center for Designing Oil and Gas Industry and Civil Engineering at the Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas, KGNT employees and management, as well as representatives of Schneider Electric Kazakhstan, Honeywell-Automatic Control System LLP, HexagonPPM and ALKOR LLP.
Foreign representatives from companies such as Worley, Fluor, and HexagonPPM devoted their speeches to EPC project management methods.
